President's Message March 2018
Dear Brothers, Our next meeting is Friday March 9th at 7:30 PM. On Saturday, March 10th, the LAOH will be setting up the hall for the Mid-Hudson St. Patrick’s Day Parade after party honoring Grand Marshal Maureen Morse and members of our AOH divisions. Our Aides to her are Division 1 John McCabe and LAOH 5 Eileen Walsh and Maeve Degan from LAOH 5 Junior division. On Sunday March 11th we shall participate in the Mid-Hudson St. Patrick’s Parade festivities. 9:00 AM - Mass at The National Shrine of Our Lady of Mount Carmel 70 Carmelite Drive Middletown, NY. We will have our AOH Division 1 Junior Division 1, the Lt. Louis E Allen Memorial Division, assist with bringing up the gifts along with the LAOH Juniors. 10:30 AM – Grand Marshal’s Brunch Kuhl’s Highland House 512 Highland Avenue, Middletown, N.Y. Tickets $25.00 Person. AOH table contact Tom McCarthy and the JDJ table contact George Anderson. Mid –Hudson St. Patrick’s Parade Goshen. Lineup will begin at 1:00 PM at the Government Center parking lot in Goshen. Step-off is at 2:00 PM. Live music to follow at the Monroe Irish Center, $10 admission. 5-7 PM in the Hall with the Claddagh Rose band is a Jersey Shore based complete Celtic experience featuring a full Irish band, bag pipes, and step dancers and we end the evening 7-9 PM in the Celtic Lounge with Paul Cray. We shall escort our Pipe Band at the Pearl River Parade Sunday March 18th we shall meet at the hall at 12 PM and car pool for those who are interested in joining us. The bus has been booked for the NYC St. Patrick’s Day Parade Saturday March 17th 11:20 AM step off. Bus will leave the hall at 8:30 AM cost is $35 per person. Proper attire is mandatory, black trousers, green jacket, white shirt and a tie and balmorals and white gloves. NO 180 BUTTONS are allowed or any pins on your jackets. If you have a friend who is Irish Catholic by birth or decent and might be interested in joining please bring them up. We are having a membership drive; if you sponsor 5 new members your dues for the following year are free. The member with most sponsorship's wins an AOH three season jacket worth $75.
