President's Message Feb 2017

Dear Brother’s: With the snow storm and a busy week this will be a short President’s Message this month. I first wish to thank all the members that came to the service for Brother John ‘Jack” Collins, a 40 plus year member of our Division. Jack was active on the Board of JDJ for many years as well as being the Town of Chester Supervisor and then a Village Trustee. His life of service to his family, church and community is an example of a Hibernian in action, for all of us. Rest in Peace Brother.

This Friday evening is our February meeting with a vast amount of information to discuss and present to the membership. I will leave that for the meeting, I would like to make mention of two events, one that has occurred and that is the Organizational meeting of the First Lt. Louis Allen, Jr. Division of the AOH. Brother Bob Allen and his wife were present for the organizational meeting which was chaired by our Worthy County President Tom McDonald.

I have never been more honored to be a member of the AOH then I was on the formation of this group. When I, first mentioned this to past Vice President Rob Ronayne, he was willing and able to assist in the establishment of the Jr., Division, and then the torch was carried by our current Vice President Neil O’Riordan. Why I suggested the formation, it was these two brothers that help make it happen.

Next is the upcoming discussion of the Mid-Hudson St. Patrick’s Day Parade and our own Worthy Immediate Past President George Anderson will be leading the Parade as the Grand Marshal.

George, I and every single member of the Division are honored to walk behind and support you and all you have done for our Division. Enjoy your Day Mr. Grand Marshal. I will keep this meeting brief but we do have several items to review and seek approval of, I look forward to seeing everyone, Friday evening at the Hall – thank you Brother’s.
